Bring your Kids to Work Day

Here’s the run down of the day’s events, starting at 7 a.m.:

  1. BART ride: Hana used inside voice, previously undiscovered.
  2. Bakery by my office: my friend Cynthia meets us; instant best friends with the kids. Hana gets a cinnamon roll, Maya gets a croissant.
  3. Drawing, stickers, 3 hole punch madness in Cynthia’s office with a zillion other kids (files hidden, sort of).
  4. Court tour by my judge: includes metal detector demonstration, Hans trying on handcuffs, a pretend (very short) court session, touring chambers, and meeting quite a few judges.
  5. Making pretend (false)passports: just like we see everyday, only a million times cuter.
  6. Pizza party: no details needed
  7. Movie time: Cars–big hit.
  8. BART ride: blissfully empty (below), involving Clifford books and iPads.

I can’t say the kids understand what mommy does, but they did play with lots of fun kids, meet my friends and see court. Best part according to them? Do you need to ask? BART!
