St. Orres is so relaxing

We took our first Maya-free weekend trip this weekend to St. Orres, a bed and breakfast in Gualala, about 1.5 hours south of Mendocino, on the coast. It was so beautiful and relaxing…and quiet! The first picture is of our cottage (there aren’t hotel rooms, just individual cottages, all are really interesting)–it had a skylight above the bed and was totally stunning. We had a great dinner in the main building (pictured at night), and then got up early (because we are weird) to take pictures the next morning. It was really rainy, so we climbed back in bed for breakfast in bed. SO nice! Then a little shopping and wine tasting (mainly Mustafa) on our way home in Russian River Valley. Definitely a nice break.

I think my parents had more fun with Maya, if that is possible. She napped like a champ, slept until 8 a.m. Sunday morning (unheard of, and through bassett hound howling no less!), and got her first professional haircut! She was so happy when we picked her up that she didn’t want to leave.
