Thankful

It is Thanksgiving today, and we are bursting with thanks for our Maya. We are, of course, thankful that she is healthy. I am especially thankful that she is cheerful, loves Lola, and seems to have a great sense of humor.

We’re also thankful that we have the means to care for her as well as we want to this year, with excellent health care (which hopefully everyone will have access to this time next year), good quality food (which not enough people have), lots and lots of toys and Elmo, and a wonderful, loving, and thoughtful caregiver that we could not live without (we love you Valorie!).

We also feel so, so lucky to be surrounded by our big family of friends and relatives for everything they’ve done for us this year, including reading our blog! I’m especially thankful for my cousin Jenni, who’s given me amazing parenting advice (and, as frequent readers know, toy-purchasing-advice!) at every turn, I don’t know what I’d do without her.

Lola is grateful that she can steal Maya’s toys and eat them. And that Rocky is only a bark away.

Maya tells me that she is grateful for Elmo. Interesting fact: according to the Sesame Street calendar, Elmo’s birthday is February 3rd, the day before Maya’s birthday. A match made in heaven!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
