Maya loves her Dada, and B-I-N-G-O

Mustafa’s parents are back in Rancho with Fatima, and Valorie is out of town this week, so Maya and I are on our own today. I decided to flip on one of those “Baby Genius” shows that has nursery rhymes, put Maya in my lap with her favorite rattle, and started to sing along. Maya went BERZERK–laughing, gesticulating wildly, clapping her rattle against her knee–she was just totally into it. When the show ended she was not pleased, so we watched a second episode. She was by far the most enchanted with the dog named B-I-N-G-O, shaking her little rattle and trying to rock the glider all on her own (and of course laughing her head off). Clearly Lola has influenced her.

My weekend away from Maya with the girls was fantastic–very relaxing and full of all kinds of sunshine. Mustafa had lots of boy-fun, involving meat, video games, and Lola and Rocky. He also had Maya do a million baby exercises (especially baby push-ups, her favorite), because she is super-strong now.
