Maya is uncooperative

Maya may look like a plump piece of delicious candy in these photos, but at around 6 p.m., she turns into a big melting down mess if you are not 100% focused on Maya–not the computer, not the dog, not (god forbid) taking 20 seconds to go to the bathroom or drink some water. So 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. is a carefully orchestrated act of Maya activities–playmat! toys! puffy books! walk around the neighborhood! jumparoo! bouncy seat! anything!!

And then…bedtime. Sometimes easy, sometimes a disaster. Bathtime usually goes well (lots of singing and gummy grins), but things go downhill when the hairbrushing starts. Then the battle of the bottle begins–sometimes short, sometimes WW2-worthy. Now that Maya is chatty, she takes forever to calm down, so it is often 8:30 and several replacements of the beloved pacifier before the baby monitor is silent and we can have an adult conversation (or, more likely, watch some stupid tv and grunt a few sentences about our day over Chipotle).
