Maya conquers Yosemite
I’ve received
several comments noting our lack of blog posts since Wednesday. I had no
idea Maya was so popular! Well, we were in Yosemite. It was quite the
adventure for a trip that involved a motel room and frozen food. After a
7.5 hour drive to get to Yosemite (normally a 3.5 hour drive), with lots
of baby-driven breaks, there was a rough 24-hour vacation-entry period
for both parents and baby. We regrouped, though, and had a grand time
showing Maya one of our favorite places. She especially liked the Merced
River, which flowed right outside our hotel room, and the sound of the
waterfalls. Her favorite landmark was the little-known ceiling fan in
Room 1090 of the Yosemite View Lodge. She could watch it for hours with
a huge grin.
Less popular: the carseat, which is suddenly her enemy. Good timing.
Mustafa’s fantastic scenic photos will be posted later–I can’t pick and he can provide commentary that is way more interesting than my “isn’t this pretty?”
