Video: Maya rooting for milk

We have learned to pay close attention to Maya’s non-verbal communication regarding eating, her favorite activity. At the hospital, we learned that when she sticks her tongue out repeatedly and smacks her lips, she is “rooting” for milk–an early sign of hunger. We watch carefully for rooting because the later sign of hunger is loud screaming. Also, rooting is pretty cute because her little tongue is adorable.
