The many faces of Maya

The thing I find most enjoyable about Maya is how expressive she can be without any verbal skills. We’ve already mentioned how much we enjoy her chirping (and I’ll try to record a video segment with chirping in it). In the meantime, do take a look at these various facial expressions she made in the space of about five minutes. As someone who’s only been out of the womb for a fortnight, she certainly doesn’t know how to correlate these faces with cause-and-effect relationships yet (I think babies learn social smiling in their second month), but they’re still fun expressions to look at. For added enjoyment, I’ve added my own interpretation of the faces she made.

Could you tell me a story, Daddy? Pretty please?

God, this story is boring. Could you pick up the pace a bit?

Did Lola spare the cornered cat, Daddy?

Ha ha! You’re the funniest guy in the world, Daddy!
